An analysis on social conflict in Cory Taylor`s novel `Me and Mr. Booker`

This thesis is a research about An Analysis of Social Conflict in Cory Taylor's Novel "Me and Mr Booker". The objective of the research is, to explain the kinds and causes of social conflict happen in the novel "Me and Mr Booker". The Researcher focused on any characther in the novel. The objective of the study were to explain kinds social conflict used Lewis Coser Theory.

The method used in this research is qualitative method. The data resource of this research was the novel "Me and Mr Booker" which was published in 2011. In collected the data, the researcher used note taking as the instrument to get the data. The technique of data analysis in this study is used Lewis Coser theory about Social conflict. The researcher found that the main character of social conflict through three aspect in the novel.

In this research, the researcher concludes of social conflict can be happened in the human environment. Then the got that main character of social conflict is defended though conflict involving position, conflict of interest and role conflict. They are,11 conflict involving social position, 5 conflict of interest, and 4 role conflict. The researcher has found causes of social conflict were relation, condition, violence, immolation of the character in the research. The causes are happened in Family Martha because relation between Mr Booker and the character in the world of magician.
