The effectiveness of using two stay two stray technique in teaching speaking for the eleventh grade students of SMAN 7 Kediri
Speaking is the main skill in English. It is a skill to express and convey ideas or feelings verbally. In speaking learning process, the researcher found many EFL students are not good yet in speaking. It was because a teaching technique applied by English teacher did not run well and the goal was not gotten yet. Here, English teacher must be smart in choosing a technique that will be applied in the class. The aim of this research is to investigate the effectiveness of the use of Two Stay Two Stray technique in teaching speaking for the eleventh grade students of SMAN 7 Kediri.
The design of this research was quasi-experimental. The population was the students of class XI in SMAN 7 Kediri. The samples were two classes that named and control group. The experimental group was class XI MIPA 1 that consists of 36 students, meanwhile the control group was class MIPA 2 that consists of 36 students. The researcher used tests as the instrument of the research. The format of the test is oral test. In analyzing data, the researcher used Analysis of Covariance (ANCOVA) by SPSS Program 24.0 version.
The result of this research showed that the data was normally distributed. It was proven by the Kolmogorov-Smimov test that the significant value (p) of tests were 116 for pre-test of the experimental group, 200 for pre-test of the control group, .112 for post-test of the experimental group, and .148 for post-test of the control group. (pa 0.05). The homogeneity variances test shows that (p) .754 0.05). The homogeneity (Slope) shows that (p) was 226 (pa 0.05). The relationship between covariate and dependent variable was linear at 0.000 (p< 0.05). Then, the result of ANCOVA showed that (p) was 0.000 (p
