The use of journal pocket toward students` vocabulary mastery
Vocabulary is one of the important components that we have to obtain Teaching vocabulary by using journal pocket will help the students to improve the vocabulary mastery in first year of academic studies at State Islamic Institute JAIN Kediri. The aim of this study is to know the perception, implication, and the problem of using journal pocket. The method used in this research is mix method namely interpretation based on descriptive quantitative and descriptive qualitative because the researcher has to analyze the data of test, students' perception and also the problem of using journal
The population of this study is the first year of academic studies 2019- 2020. The researcher took three classes from same population that consists of 32- 33 students for the research. The instruments of obtaining data in mix method are the researcher analyze from their test (pre-test and post-test), result of questionnaire and interview,
The result of this study has shown that the data was normally distributed In this research, parametric test could not be used to test the hypothesis So. Wilcoxon test is utilized to test the hypothesis, it's non-parametric test. The result of hypothesis testing is 000 which is lower than 05. It is indicated that there is significant range of students on using journal pocket. It is proven from first academic year studies in IAIN Kediri. There were about 75 students which get significant score Based on the questionnaire result is 85% the students answer agree, 6% agree, 4% undecided. 3% disagree and 2% strongly disagree It shows that this method gives enhancement of students' vocabulary because it can surely help the pupils to learn and develop their vocabulary acquisition on first year And from the interview section that journal pocket has highly contribution on the students' vocabulary learning process in the class Based on data above, the researcher concludes that journal Pocket is an effective teaching strategy to improve the students vocabulary skill
