The analysis of students' anxiety on speaking of the fourth semester students of English Department of IAIN Kediri
The focused of this study is on the phenomenon of speaking anxiety that occurs among fourth semester students of English Department of Faculty of Tarbiyah of IAIN Kediri. The aims of this study are to describe the speaking anxiety which is experienced by the students, to find out what the sources of anxiety on students' speaking are, and to know the dominant source of speaking anxiety of the fourth semester students of English Department of IAIN Kediri The participants in this research are 70 students of the English Language Department in the fourth semester of IAIN Kediri in 2019
This study used qualitative method. The instrument which is used in this study is a close-ended questionnaire that is adapted from Horwitz, Horwitz and Cope, FLCAS questionnaire was given to the participants There are 32 statements which each item represents the source of anxiety experienced by students. The collected data was analyzed by descriptive qualitative and based on theory from Belgin Aydin as a reference in speaking anxiety
The result of this study showed that there are four main sources of anxiety in students speaking. 70 participants, 39% of students choose personal reason as their source of speaking anxiety, 21% of them choose learners' belief, 11% of them choose teacher's manner, and 29% other choose teaching procedure as their source of anxiety on their speaking From those findings, known that source personal reason is the dominant source of speaking anxiety of the fourth semester students of English Department of Faculty of Tarbiyah of State Islamic Institute of Kediri.
