The Correlation between Self Efficacy across Gender and Students' English Achievement
School is a place which is devoted to the teaching and learning activities that consists of teachers, students, and some staffs. There are so many efforts have been constructed by the teacher, such as creating an interesting learning strategy and some media. This way is done in order that the students can be more active when learning process. But, the reality in some cases is we still find the students who still lack of enthusiasm and they are not confident even though all kinds of efforts have been made and it affects their score in studying. This research aims to know whether there is a significant different level of self-efficacy across gender and whether there is a positive and significant correlation between self-efficacy across gender and students' English achievement.
This research is quantitative correlation research and the population of the research is 129 students and the sample is about 62 students. The questionnaire and the test were used in this research. The data was analyzed by using SPSS 22 for windows. The result of this research finds that there is no significant different level of self-efficacy across gender. While the result of correlation analysis describes that there is a positive correlation but not significant between self efficacy of male students and their English achievement. And there is a positive and significant correlation between self-efficacy of female students and their English achievement in 8th grade of MTs Bahrul Ulum Gadingmangu Jombang.
