Improving Writing Skill In Recount Text Of The First Year Students Of Man Tarokan Using Guiding Question
Writing is a form of communication that allows students to put their feelings and ideas on paper, to organize their knowledge and beliefs into convincing arguments, and to convey meaning through well-constructed text. The research is improving writing skill in recount text of the first year students of MAN 1 Kediri using guiding question. The purpose of the research is to improve the students’s writing skill in recount text of the first grade of MAN 1 Kediri.
To implement this research the researcher uses Classroom Action Research by guiding question method. The data is collected through the use of an observation checklist and test. It makes the repeating of the cycle to achieve the result of the research. The process of planning, implementing, observing and reflecting is the way to analyze the data resource.
The results of this research reveal that there are two cycles. In cycle one percentage of students who passed the test 69% and 31% of the students did not pass the test. This research is successful when 80% or more than 80% of the total students. In this case the researcher should be able to give some motivation to reach our goal. The results of the cycles two showed that the students achieve the progress, 81% of the students passed the test and 19% of the students did not pass the test. From the result of the whole meeting, it can be concluded that the use of guiding questions technique can improve students’ writing skill in recount text.
