ENHANCING STUDENTS’ VOCABULARY MASTERY THROUGH MIND MAPPING METHOD FOR THE FIRST YEAR STUDENTS OF MTS AR-RAHMAH JABUNG MALANG
This research purposed to improve the students’ ability in vocabulary mastery. Research design of this study is Classroom Action Research (CAR). And the researcher uses some instruments in this research, they are observation and test. The subject of research is the first year students of MTs Ar-Rahmah Jabung which consist of 34 student, 18 women and 16 men. The criterion of success is 70% of the students to get minimum score 76 in the evaluation test.
The result of this study described that the researcher has one cycle to implement mind mapping successfully. The researcher’s target is to increase more than 70% successful students in getting vocabulary through mind mapping method. It can be proven the result of preliminary study until the cycle. In preliminary study, the result of score test was 41,1% and average value was 72,7. Therefore, the result of score test successfully was 79,4% and the average value was 86,1.
