IMPROVING PRONUNCIATION THROUGH DRILLING TECHNIQUE OF TENTH GRADE STUDENTS OF SMAN 01 PARE
The main purpose of this study is to know the improvement of teaching English pronunciation by using communicative drilling techniques. The method of this research is classroom action research (CAR). The data in this research is used percentages analysis. The respondents of this research are XA6 students of SMAN 01 Pare Kediri which consist of 36 students. Based on result of data analysis there is improvements on students’ pronunciation achievement in each cycle. The data shows that in pretest score of cycle one students’ pronunciation is (40) 3 students, (45) 5 students, (50) 6 students, (55) 13 students, and (60) 9 students, it’s mean that no one students get good score. In the posttest is (50) 4 students, (55) 3 students, (60) 1 students, (65) 1 students, (70) 22 students, and (75) 5 students, it’s mean that an increase even though not all passed. This research indicates that the using of drilling technique can improve students’ pronunciation achievement at the first year students of SMAN 01 Pare kediri academic year 2017/ 2018.
