AN ANALYSIS OF MORAL VALUES BASED ON HARUN YAHYA’S THEORY IN THE GREAT DEBATERS BY DENZEL WASHINGTON’S MOVIE
The analysis is an activity in which a person distinguished and describes
something to classify based on a specific criterion. The analysis also can be
described as an ability to solve or untangle an information to be little components
in order to make easy in understanding the information. Moral values are one
basis on which people make decisions that are right or wrong. Moral values have
strong relationships with the culture of people lived. Because of each place or
countries have different rules, so many factors which can influence to build of the
moral person. It comes from the school environment, friends, family, individual,
technology, and so on. In this era, moral education is something crucial to
enhance. Now, education has priority to improve moral of a human. Therefore, the
researcher is intended to conduct this study in order to give contribute about moral
education.
This research uses basic qualitative research design. Descriptive analysis
and the researcher become the instrument research. Primary source used in this
study is movie The Great debaters by Washington Denzel as the movie to be
analyzed. The data analysis has four steps as identifying, determining, analyzing,
and drawing the conclusion.
In the findings, the researcher classifies nine moral values contained in
the movie. The most appear is wisdom. There are nine examples of wisdom which
appears in the movie. There is three moral value which the least appear. They are
patient, respect, sorry and apologies. The result of this study can be used to
contribute the development of the literary study, particularly among the people
who are interested in the literary study and remind readers the importance of
moral values and also implement in daily activity.
