Improving Vocabulary Mastery By Using Snake And Ladder Games At Fifth Grade Student of Al-Mambaul Islami Chuwo (Thailand).
This study focuses on the Improving Vocabulary Mastery by using Snake and Ladder games at fifth grade student of Al-mambaul Islami Chuwo (Thailand). Based on preliminary of the study, found that most of the students had difficulty to remember new vocabularies that they had learned and still had less vocabulary.
The subject of the study was the 5th grade Al-mambaul Islami Chuwo (Thailand), academic year 2016-2017. There are 25 students. The design of the study was Classroom Action Research (CAR). The critiria of success are designed to know whether or not the students’ reading comprehension improved by using snake and ladder game. If the students who get score 75 more than 75% and if there is more 75% students are active in learning process the research is successful.
The result of this research showed that the students’ average score in pre-test 58, 8, the average score in post-test 1 66,00 and the average score in posttest 2 was 77,60. The students’ percentage in post-test 1 was 44% and percentage in post-test 2 was 76%. From the result, the students’ responses showed that they were interested in learning vocabulary through using snake and ladder games. Moreover, the students’ achievement in pre-test and post-test showed a significant improvement. So, the researcher concluded that using snake and ladder games at 5th grade of Al-mambaul Islami Chuwo (Thailand) can improve students’ vocabulary.
