The Effectiveness of Quantum Teaching Strategy in Teaching Speaking Skill at SMK TI Pelita Nusantara Kediri.
This study focused on the effectiveness of quantum teaching strategy in teaching speaking skill at 10th grade of SMK TI Pelita Nusantara Kediri. The objective of this study is to find out the significant differences between students who taught using quantum teaching strategy have better speaking skill and those who are not taught by using quantum teaching strategy.
The subject of this research is the students at the 10th grade of SMK TI Pelita Nusantara Kediri in the second semester in academic year 2017/2018. They were class computer and network engineering (TKJ) as the experiment group that taught with quantum teaching strategy, and class multimedia (MM) as the control group that taught with think pair share. The instrument of this research is pre-test and post-test, the score of them was calculated by using ANCOVA.
The result of pre-test, the mean score of experimental group is 41.60 while the mean score from control group is 44.08. In the post test the mean score of experimental group is 73.47, while the mean score of control group is 62.69. The result of ANCOVA assumption shows that the distribution is normal that is .591
for pre test and .975 for post test. Then for homogenity of variance of both group are equal that is .877 > .05. Then, there is a relationship between covariate and the dependent variable, .010 < .05.
The result of statistical computation of ANCOVA states that the result of significant .008 < .05. since the significant value is lower than .05 statistically there is enough evidence to reject null hypothesis (H0), and then accepted the alternative hypothesis (Ha). It means that teaching speaking skill by using quantum teaching strategies is effective.
