Using Animation Movie To Improve The Vocabulary Mastery Of The Second Grade Students of MAN PRAMBON
Vocabulary is one of the most essential aspects in learning English in order to be able to communicate by using that language. But the students vocabulary mastery at the second grade of MAN Prambon is very low. Therefore the researcher tries to implement animation movie to the class. This study intends to find how Animation Movie can increase the students’ vocabulary mastery at the second grade of MAN Prambon, in which the students, the facilities, and the teachers limited.
This research uses Classroom Action Research. Subject of this study is students at the second grade of MAN Prambon. In collecting the data the researcher uses test, observation, and interview to the student. For data analysis, the researcher uses criteria of success as follow; 1) 75% of students get score ≥ 78, and 2). The average score is ≥ 75. In this research , there are two cycles. Each cycle consist of three meetings.
The result of the test was analyzed as follows. In preliminary study, the students who get score 75 and above is 37.5 % . In the first cycle, the students who get score 75 and above are 65 % with average score 67.42. By giving shorter text in the second cycle, 83%of the students get score 75 and with average score is 76.24. Based on the result of the tests, the researcher concludes that Animation Movie can improve students vocabulary mastery at the second grade of MAN Prambon. Thus, the researcher suggests teachers, especially for Teacher of Senior High School to use Animation Movie in teaching learning to improve students vocabulary mastery.
