Problems in implementing curriculum 2013 faced by english teachers in junior high schools in kabupaten nganjuk / Khurin Maqnun

Curriculum is an instrument for raising the quality of education, so it is the significant thing for education which the effect for curriculum is interpretation in experience of life that is social life. In Indonesia, the implementation of the entire of curriculums is based on condition for that time. In addition, the condition of the government, so the curriculums have much change in the early period. It is in 1947, 1952, 1964, 1968, 1975, 1984, 1994, 2004, 2006, and 2013. The change is logic consequences of the politic system change, the culture change, the economic change, and the development of knowledge in the country, but this change has been making some problems in every aspects. In this era, Curriculum 2013 is the newest curriculum that implemented in Indonesia. This new curriculum is competence-based curriculum that use scientific approach in teaching learning process. The purpose of this research is to know what are the problems and efforts of English teachers in implementing Curriculum 2013 in Junior High School in Kabupaten Nganjuk.
The research design in this research is using descriptive qualitative. The instrument of the research is questionnaire and interview. The researcher interviews the English teachers who are teaching English in seventh grade in Junior High Schools in Kabupaten Nganjuk, that are SMPN 1 Nganjuk, SMPN 1 Tanjunganom, SMPN 1 Gondang, and SMPN 1 Bagor.
Based on the questionnaire and interviews, there are some research findings in this research: they are problem in lesson plan, problem in handbook, problem in teaching learning process; problem in implementing scientific approach and problem in authentic assessment. The teachers attend the training of the Curriculum 2013 and look for a sample of lesson plan through the internet are the solutions to overcome the difficulty in designing a lesson plan, looking for in other references or other books to add the matter or the information that be taught in teaching learning process, change the students’ mindset to overcome implementing scientific approach to their students, and the teachers have to adapt and know more about the over plus and the lack of their students in teaching learning process, the teachers make a random sampling in authentic assessment with take the generality of the attitude from their students.
