Developing Voster interactive learning media application to teach vacabulary for elementary school students
The objective of the research was to develop interactive learning media that is able to be a tool to support teaching learning activity in the classroom. This study was Research and Development (R&D). The procedure of the developing interactive learning media followed the design process proposed by Borg and Gall (1983). The stages were modified based on the needs of the study. The modified model consisted of seven stages: Need analysis, Development product, Expert validation, First revision, Field testing, second revision, final product. To validate the appropriateness of the media, the researcher involved three experts to assess the media, an English teacher to collect the data, and 3rd grade students of SDN Burengan 2 Kediri to try the product. The data of this study were in the form of qualitative and quantitative data. The qualitative data were obtained from an interviews in order to know whether or not the teacher uses learning media while teaching. The quantitative data were obtained from the questionnaires. The questionnaires were to the experts and students in order to assess the learning media. The quantitative data were analysed by using descriptive statistics.
The product of the research was a computer based interactive learning media. Based on the assessments and responses of the expert validations and the students, it can be concluded that the interactive learning media was appropriate as a tool to support teaching learning process especially for 3rd grade elementary school students. The average score shown by the three evaluators was 91%. It lied on the range of 90% 100% means that the interactive learning media was categorized "Very Good". While, the percentage score based on students scoring was 96.8%. It placed in the range of 90%-100% means "Very Good".
