The effectivenes of 3-2-1 reflection technique in teaching reading comprehension of recount text
This research is about the effectiveness of 3-2-1 Reflection Technique in teaching reading comprehension of recount text. Further, the research problem of this research was is there any significant effect of 3-2-1 Reflection Technique in teaching reading comprehension of recount text? Furthermore, the objective of this research was to investigate the effectiveness of 3-2-1 Reflection Technique in teaching reading comprehension of recount text.
In this research, the writer used quasi-experimental research design. The population of this research was all students of second grade at SMPN 6 Kediri in academic year 2020/2021. Further, the samples of this research were VIII A as experimental class and VIII B as control class. Moreover, the techniques of data analysis in this research were ANCOVA and Independent Sample Test in software SPSS 16.0 for windows.
The result of this research showed that 3-2-1 Reflection Technique to use in teaching reading comprehension of recount text for second grade at SMPN 6 Kediri in the academic year 2020/2021. It can be seen from students gain score in experiment class was 4.53 and the students' gain score in control class was 2.13. Additionally, the sig. (2 tailed) was 0.002 smaller than sig level or 0.002 < 0.050. Further, the result from ANCOVA analysis through SPSS 16.0 for windows showed that the class's significant value was 0.000 smaller than sig level 0.050 (0.000 < 0.050). Therefore, 3-2-1 Reflection Technique can be implemented in teaching reading comprehension of recount text.
