The Correlation Between Students Ability in Arabic Pronunciaton and their ability in english pronunciation in stain kediri

In STAIN KEDIRI, most of the Islamic students have studied Arabic pronunciation when they study about reading holly Qur’an. While in English there are many similarity pronunciations as like in Arabic. The title of this research is “The correlation between students’ ability in Arabic and their ability in English pronunciation in STAIN Kediri”. The objective of this study is to know the correlation between students’ ability in Arabic pronunciation and their ability English pronunciation in STAIN Kediri.
The population of this study is the fifth semester students of English Department in STAIN Kediri academic year 2015/2016. The sampel was taken from all of the population. The researcher collects data by recording pronunciation test. The record was analyzed by two professional teachers. And the score of the test were calculated by using SPSS 23.00 for windows.
The result of the correlation was 0,241. The contribution is 0,241 showed a positive correlation between students’ ability in Arabic pronunciation and their ability in English pronunciation. In this case the students who have good ability in Arabic pronunciation can pronounce English word better than students who have low ability in Arabic. So, the ha is accepted. The researcher would like to suggest the students use the benefit from their Arabic knowledge to increase their English ability especially in pronunciation.
