Nowadays, there are many companies make English textbook to help the teacher in the teaching learning process. So that way, choosing a good textbook is an important thing by the teacher and school. Teacher must be known about the curriculum development to choose a suitable textbook. This thesis analyzes an English textbook published by Intan Pariwara for tenth grade students second semester 2011/2012 based on the KTSP curriculum. The writer hopes this research useful for people, especially the teacher or school. The writer hopes that it is able to give information about how to make decision in selecting an English textbook that is appropriate with curriculum development. This thesis focuses on the material and the model of exercise of the English textbook.

The researcher uses descriptive qualitative of this study. The object of this studyis an English textbook published by Intan Pariwara for Tenth Grade Students second semeter 2011/2012. The instrument of this study is the researcher herself. The researcher uses documentation method. There are several steps to analyze the data, such as analyze the content of the textbook, the comparison of KTSP curriculum and analyze every unit of the English textbook.

In this study, the researcher finds out the conformity of KTSP curriculum and the English textbook published by Intan Pariwara. It is divided in four sections. Those are listening, speaking, reading and writing section. Besides that, the researcher also analyzes the supplementary materials that are presented of the English textbook. Generally, the conformity of the English textbook published by Intan Pariwara toward KTSP curriculum is about 77,77%. There are several materials of KTSP curriculum those are not presented in the English textbook. But generally, this English textbook is conforming to KTSP curriculum
